A Relaxed Expression: Simpler in design, The Keel offers a relaxed expression of the home. Clean lines and natural materials ensure it carries the same cohesive warmth found throughout the vessel.

Intentional Luxury on Flinders Island

There is a particular kind of traveller who understands that true luxury is not found in what is easily reached - but in what is deliberately sought. The house named “Faraway” speaks to that instinct, offering an intentional retreat for those who appreciate the romance of distance and the rare elegance of solitude.

Relax Into ‘Island Time’

Long before map routes were drawn, the islands of the Furneaux Group were navigated by intent. That same spirit lives here. “Faraway” is a destination that feels discovered rather than visited. The journey itself, the crossing, the distance, the gradual shedding of urgency – prepares you for arrival. When you step over the threshold at “Faraway”, you enter a different rhythm. Welcome to ‘island time’, “Faraway”-style.

Exquisite Shelter and Design

Inside, the home acts as both shelter and vessel. It is a quiet respite from the wild Roaring Forties winds that have shaped the Flinders Island coastline for millennia. Designed not just to be seen but to be discovered, every corner reveals something unexpected. Hand-selected artworks, sculptural details, and collected objects tell quiet stories, inviting curiosity and pause.

An Untamed Horizon

Step outside, and Flinders Island and other islands in the Furneaux Group stretch before you, vast and untamed. Granite peaks rise in the distance, beaches remain untouched, and the horizon feels endless. At night, the sky opens wide and unbroken, revealing the same sharp, luminous constellations that once guided early navigators through uncertain waters.

Where Your Journey Begins

This is not just escapism. It is a place where the modern traveller becomes an explorer again, guided not by necessity, but by desire. Drawn to the far edge of things, the world here feels quieter, richer, and more expansive.

"Faraway" is not simply at the end of the world. It is where your journey begins.
